Joe Navarro’s Body Language Academy

Last year I signed up to do the Body Language Expert training course with Joe Navarro’s Body Language Academy.
The training is self paced and expected to take you around 4 – 6 months, however once I got going and due to previous knowledge and training in body language I graduated in just over 2 months.

The training modules are all done online, and broken down into various segments per module. The module segments vary from videos, reading, multiple choice questions and little essay type assessments. At the end of each module you are asked for honest feedback, to help them make future improvements.
In addition to the self lead training mentioned above, each student is assigned a mentor. You can reach out to your mentor for support and for questions, and you also have 4 video based catch ups, when you get 1:1 feedback on how you are progressing with the course, generally Q&A and an opportunity develop a relationship with someone who is also interested in the wonderful world of non verbals. My mentor was called Sean, and we had good interactions about body language and got to know each other in more details, or backgrounds, interests, etc.

If you are new to body language and non verbals, you will gain a wealth of knowledge from this course. To be honest, as someone with previous training and knowledge of body language, I wasn’t sure how much I would get from this course, but I signed up as I wanted to get a taste of what it would be like to train with Joe Navarro. I was surprised to realise how much I had forgotten, and how your skills atrophy over time. So with this in mind, even someone with knowledge and previous training will get benefit from this course.

Yes the training comes at a premium price, but you do get access to the knowledge and experience of Joe’s 25+ years developing his expertise in non verbal communication, and the tests help you gauge your development. One thing I would like to see in the future on the platform is answers to the questions, perhaps when you have finished the course. As one issue I found would be if you got a question wrong, you couldn’t tell why, and then realise areas to improve or more focused reading.

You also get access to three of Joe’s Body Language books, you have to be online to read these, which isn’t ideal, but great to have access to this reading material if you don’t have these books already.

I have added a little video review below, which also shows a little sample of the Body Language Academy platform, along with some of my other thoughts on why this training might be of interest.
At the time of writing we are in another Covid Lockdown, and Joe is offering 30% off the training. Visit the Body Language Academy website to find out more.
